Locking Arms Annual Golf Tournament

Locking Arms was founded by Executive Director, Tammy Leatherby, and her husband, Tom, in 2010. Both Tom and Tammy have had the opportunity to travel and serve in numerous countries, usually sharing that experience with short-term teams they were leading.  After spending nearly 25-years in full-time ministry,  Locking Arms was Tammy's way to continue sharing her passion for missions with others – engaging people in the community, in local businesses, as well as in churches throughout the US.   With a strong desire to see  people mobilized and engaged in the work of caring for impoverished people, Tammy surrounded herself with others of the same heart, and the work of Locking Arms began.

By raising up awareness and providing opportunities for individuals, churches and businesses to work together, the goal is to foster self-reliant, sustainable change in the lives of hurting people around the globe.  Utilizing the best efforts and practices of people and organizations already working in impoverished regions worldwide, Locking Arms will focus primarily on youth development and orphan care; education and literacy; religious advancement; health, nutrition and clean water systems; and the creation of micro-finance opportunities.

At this time our focus is on the Mathare Valley Slums of Nairobi, Kenya, the Hilltribe Peoples of Northern Thailand, and a Children's Home in Rosarito, Mexico.  Our founders & members of the Board of Directors have served numerous times in each of these locations and the people have captured our hearts.  We understand all too well the needs in these regions and the opportunity we have to make a difference.
